Shepparton SCI Regional Network December 2016

19 December, 2016

For the Shepparton SCI Regional Network’s December meeting, the group met at the Peppermill Inn Hotel where guest speaker, Dr. Alan Wallace spoke to the group about general health and wellbeing for people living with a spinal cord injury (SCI).

Dr. Wallace covered a range of topics including pressure sores, urinary tract infections, diet and nutrition, spasms and sleeping patterns. The group found the session captivating and worthwhile; all learning something that may benefit their overall health in the future. You can read more about the session here.

Over the coming months, the group will look at compiling a list of accessible services in the Shepparton region, including tradesmen, retailers, health services, repairers and more.

Early in 2017 the group will also work with Shepparton News again to help spread the word about the network and continue to grow the overall accessibility of the Shepparton region.

Moving into the New Year the group is looking forward to engaging in various activities, more guest speakers such as NDIS spokes people and partaking is Spire’s short course DPM (Discovering the Power in Me).
