Ballarat SCI Regional Network Meeting - June 2018
The group decided to watch a movie together for this meeting. After looking around, everyone present agreed on the famed documentary “Gurrumul”, which is a stirring and soulful movie/documentary about the Aboriginal singer and composer Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu.
The movie was powerful, extremely moving and exceptionally well produced, and only approved by the man himself three days before his death. Gurrumul barely has any dialogue throughout the movie, the reason being English was his fifth language. The movie contains a lot of footage from his life, including childhood up to the days before his death, along with excerpts of family members talking about him. In all, an amazing watch and the group was very pleased they decided to watch it.
