New ways to manage your bladder and bowel

1 August, 2019

Two guest speakers addressed the Women with SCI Network in July, outlining the latest developments in bladder and bowel management.

Speakers Cath Byrne and Anna Brown, both clinical nurse consultants with Austin Health, drew a big turnout of members to the AQA/Spire offices in Fairfield.

Cath, a consultant in spinal urology, brought samples of five different kinds of catheter and discussed how they helped women with different needs. She answered lots of urology questions from members.

Anna then discussed the neurogenic bowel, and ways to change to a bowel routine that suits you better.

Cath and Anna brought a wealth of experience and knowledge. Each is happy for anyone to contact her with questions.

Cath can be contacted at [email protected], and Anna at [email protected].

Everyone agreed that it was an enjoyable meeting, due to the helpful topic and the friendly interactions with other women.

Many thanks to network member Karen, an AQA/Spire volunteer, for organising the day.
