Ballarat SCI Regional Network Meeting – March 2019

29 March, 2019

On a beautiful sunny day, the Ballarat SCI Regional Network met at the Ballarat Yacht Club for the March meeting where they had a sail with Sailability and a social lunch.

A few members of the Network had their regular morning sailing session early in the morning. It was great to watch them sail through the waters in their boats and see how much progress they made in the past few weeks. Then the group came back on dry land for lunch outdoors, and discussed how sailing has given the sailors freedom on the waters. We would like to thank Charles and his daughter for accommodating the needs of everyone and making it worthwhile for everyone of all abilities. It also inspired a few more people to try sailing for the first time.

Sailability will be running their weekly sailing sessions every Thursday morning until May, so come and try before it finishes for the season!

We also discussed details for the joint Ballarat – Geelong meeting in Geelong which a few people are keen to try! The accessible cruise boat can hold up to 15 people in manual and electric wheelchairs. For $30 per person, the cruise will be for 1.5 hours and lunch is included. Friends and family are welcomed!
