Spire is a service brand of AQA Victoria Ltd (AQA), which is a member-based Not For Profit organisation that resources people to live well.
Spire uses the value of people with lived experience of spinal cord injury (SCI) to provide peer-facilitated and peer-informed services and supports to others living with SCI to help them deal with the issues of life.
This includes one-to-one peer support and mentoring for newly injured people as they go through rehabilitation and transition to the community.
The support of a skilled peer supporter can be one of the most powerful interventions at this time of great upheaval. Through information sharing and education, peer support reduces the sense of being alone with a problem and leads to improved self-esteem and community participation.
By exposing people to the possibilities in life after a spinal cord injury, clients get a glimpse of what the future can hold for them and this provides a great source of motivation.
We invite you to consider making a donation to help maintain and grow Spire's resources and services. Whatever sum you donate will assist us to provide services to people with Spinal Cord Injury. All donations over $2 are tax-deductible and we will provide you with a receipt.
AQA is a not-for-profit public company and registered charity.
